Lillian Geraldine "Geri" Weeks of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014, at the United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jim Stiles officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Friday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Friday evening. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa.

Geri was born February 22, 1920, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of John Allison and Lillian A. (Pelley) Crone. She attended country school in Washington County, Iowa and graduated from Washington High School in 1938. She was united in marriage to Richard L. Weeks on June 27, 1948, in Washington, Iowa.
Geri worked at Rukgaber Hardware on the Square and later at Zelinski's Hardware in the gift department as a young woman. She joined in the ownership of Sitler's Electric with her husband Richard in 1976. She thoroughly enjoyed being the Lighting Showroom Manager in their store in Marion for many years. She enjoyed playing in the Bridge and Pinochle marathons for many years where she and Richard were tough to beat. She loved being a mother and playing the role as a Grandmother to many children in the community.
Geri was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington and was always active in her church until the last few years. She was a member of Washington Fortnightly, the Eastern Star, and White Shrine.
She is survived by one daughter, Lana Weeks of Big Sur, California; and many nieces and nephews.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard in 2010; brothers, George, John, Lawson, Douglas, Woodrow and Cloyce Crone; and sisters, Emily Lins and Phyllis Jones; and one niece Judy Crone.
