Lee Eisele, age 77, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospital after a decline in health.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the United Church of Crawfordsville with Rev. Don Lowe and Larry Fletcher officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Friday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Friday evening. Lee was born August 20, 1936 in Washington, Iowa, the son of Fred and Margaret (Hauenstein) Eisele. He attended country school in rural Havre, Iowa, and graduated from Washington High School in 1955. Lee was united in marriage to Phyllis Lowe on June 1, 1961, in Crawfordsville, Iowa.
Lee was a lifelong resident of Washington County having lived in Washington for the past 52 years. He worked as a mechanic for Fletcher Motors in Crawfordsville from 1958 until 1978 and later worked for Max White and Sons in Ainsworth, Mincer Ford in Columbus Junction and L.J. Roth Reconstruction in Olds. He was a member of the Corn Country Cruisers Car Club and enjoyed working on his cars and cruising on Friday nights. He enjoyed woodworking, mowing and doing yardwork.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Eisele of Washington, Iowa; aunt, Wilma Mitchell of Washington, Iowa; a number of cousins; mother-in-law, Marie Lowe of Wayland, Iowa; sister-in-laws, Mary Fabian of Coralville, Iowa; Linda Alvine and husband Gene of Loveland, Colorado; brother-in-laws, Don Lowe and wife Carla of Wayland, Iowa; Larry Lowe and wife Tammy of Crawfordsville, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents.
