LaVaughn Hope Krotz, age 75, of Washington, Iowa died Wednesday, June 2nd at her residence after failing in health for the past ten weeks.

Celebration of life services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 5th at the Jones Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Julie Poulsen officiating. Visitation will begin noon Friday, June 4th at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 Friday evening. LaVaughn was born August 19, 1934 in Trenton, Iowa the daughter of James O. and L. Pearl (Hite) Miller. She attended school in Trenton and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1951. She was united in marriage to Delbert Krotz on October 5, 1958.

Following high school, LaVaughn worked at the Henry County Savings Bank in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She later worked at Northrup King/Syngenta in Washington for nearly 25 years until her retirement. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Washington. She enjoyed sewing, Brazilian embroidery, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of a local sewing club.

LaVaughn is survived by her husband Delbert Krotz of Washington, Iowa; son Phillip Krotz and wife Maurita of Center Point, Iowa; two grandsons Dillon and Sawyer Krotz of Center Point, Iowa; and one sister Marion Courtney of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son - Patrick Krotz, and two sisters - Virginia Smith and Juanita Bonser.
