Laura Plecker, age 91, of Ainsworth, Iowa, died Friday, October 2, 2015, at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona, Iowa.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Rebecca Carver officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Monday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. Laura was born June 4, 1924, in Louisiana the daughter of Sylvester and Latina (Gallin) Floyes. She attended school in Colfax, Louisiana. On November 7, 1942, Laura was united in marriage to Charles Marlin Plecker in Leesville, Louisiana.

Laura moved to Iowa in 1944 while Charles continued his service in the United States Army. She worked as a homemaker and assisted her husband in the family farm operation. Laura was a former member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church north of Ainsworth. She was a member of the "Round the Mile" neighborhood club, the Good Sams Club and the Big River Sams Club. Laura enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She loved to crochet, sew and cook for the entire family. Laura was known for her homemade cooked apples. Following their retirement, she and Charles enjoyed traveling and camping. Laura loved her entire family but especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is survived by son, George Plecker and wife Linda; daughter, Betty Thompson and husband Jim; son, Marty Plecker and wife Sheri all of Ainsworth, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles in 2012; sister, Leola George; brother, Lawrence DeBois; and brother, Luther Floyes.
