Larry G. Lasek, age 80, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.
A graveside service and interment with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements and will live stream services on the Jones & Eden Funeral Home Facebook page. A general memorial has been established. Larry was born October 28, 1940 in Washington County, Iowa, the son of Melo and Gezena (Knottnerus) Lasek. He graduated from Ainsworth High School and served honorably in the United States Army Reserves. Larry was united in marriage to Lucie Baker in 1965 in Ainsworth, Iowa. They later divorced. He then married Carol Fischer and they later divorced.
Larry farmed in Washington County his entire life and was a member of the Pork Producers. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR and giving his grandchildren tractor rides during the Ainsworth Fun Days parade. He loved to spend time with his table of friends in downtown Ainsworth and with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Miller and husband Paul of Ainsworth, IA; son, Dallus Lasek and wife Angie of Ainsworth, IA; grandchildren: Andrea (Tory) Van Hoang; Ashley (Brandon) Vedquam; Brittany (Paul) Stumpf; and Trent, Trey and Zack Lasek; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons: Trevor Lasek and Eric Miller; brother, Raymond Lasek; and sister, Dorothy Kaska.
