Obituary
Larry E. Kiefer, age 88, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Halcyon House in Washington.

Larry was born March 6, 1937, in Minnesota, the son of Marcellus "Moody" and Marie (Broadwater) Kiefer. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School and served honorably in the United States Navy. On October 15, 1978, Larry married Rita (Perkins) Atkins.
Larry worked in research and development at John Deere in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area for many years. In 2013, he and Rita relocated to Washington, Iowa. Larry attended Faith Baptist Church. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed many motorcycle trips with Rita throughout the United States. Larry also loved restoring street rod cars and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Kiefer of Washington, Iowa; two daughters: Angela (Tony) Atkins-Adams of Washington, Iowa, and Tara Atkins of England; two grandchildren, Clay and Delaney Adams; and three children from a previous marriage.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
