Larry Dale Fisher, age 70, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a lengthy illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Sharon Benell officiating. Visitation will begin noon Tuesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 Tuesday evening. Interment with military honors will take place at the Keota Cemetery in Keota, Iowa. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County. Larry was born June 14, 1945, in Keota, Iowa, the son of Robert Cloyce and Bessie Eloise (Martin) Fisher. He attended school in Keota. Larry served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
After moving to Washington, Iowa, in 1971, Larry worked as a carpenter for Wood Construction. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fellowshipping with his friends and family.
Larry is survived by one brother, John Robert Fisher and wife Marjorie of Washington, Iowa; and one sister, Sharon Ann Yocum of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, David Yocum.
