Larry Kent Davidson, age 75, of Denton, Texas, formerly of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at his home in Texas after a battle with cancer.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Larry was born January 25, 1939 in Washington, Iowa, the son of Harley "Dick" and Ruth (Young) Davidson. He attended Franklin Center Country School before moving to Loveland, Colorado where he graduated from high school in 1957. Larry attended one year at Colorado State University. He was united in marriage to Judy Pauley on June 7, 1959 at the First Methodist Church in Loveland, Colorado.
Larry and Judy moved to Ames, Iowa where Larry attended Iowa State University. He graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering in 1964. His career took him to many cities in the US and Canada. In 1966, Larry was named President, CEO and Chairman of The Board of Terracon Companies, Inc. in Lenexa, Kansas. He retired to Grand Lake in Grove, Oklahoma in 2003 and then moved to Denton, Texas with his wife in 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Davidson of Denton, TX; daughter, Deanna Alexander of Ft. Worth, TX; two granddaughters, Malia and Thea Alexander of Ft. Worth, TX; and brother, Kenneth Davidson and wife Diane of Loveland, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Darren in 1981; sister, Karen Lebsack; and great-niece Hannaha Lebsack.
