Kurt LeRoy Scott, age 51, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals following a brief illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Calling hours will begin 12:00 p.m. Monday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Kurt was born September 3, 1963 in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Ronald LeRoy and Sandra Kay (Ammeter) Scott. He attended Washington Community School. Kurt was united in marriage to Susan Kay Ginkens on August 17, 1991 in Washington.

Kurt grew up in the Brighton community and moved to Washington in 1991. He was the feed store manager for Brighton Agri Services for over 20 years. Kurt enjoyed the outdoors, camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Scott of Washington; son, Cole Watson and wife Devyn of Washington; daughter, Hailey Scott of Washington; son, Austin Scott of Washington; grandchildren, Ryker and Maddux; parents, Ron and Sandy Scott of Brighton; brother, Todd Scott of Brighton; sister, Ronnette Alexander and husband Chris of Washington; sister, Terri Crone and husband Dave of Washington; sister-in-law, Deb Pearson and husband Bill of Dubuque, Iowa; brother-in-law, Dennis Ginkens and wife Holly of Billings, Montana; and 14 nieces and nephews.

Kurt was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Jeri Christner, and his grandparents.
