Kurt W. Rorick, age 65, of Crawfordsville, Iowa, died Friday, November 29, 2013 at his residence.

A celebration of Kurt's life will be held in conjunction with the Monday, December 9, 2013 Mt. Pleasant Kiwanis Club Meeting at 12:00 p.m. at the Pizza Hut in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Online condolences may be sent for Kurt's family at www.jonesfh.com .

Kurt William Rorick was born December 12, 1947 in Binghamton, New York the son of Kermit and Ruth (Weinreber) Rorick. He graduated from Binghamton Central High School and graduated from West Point Military Academy in 1970. On November 11, 1973, Kurt was united in marriage to Janice Mayfield in Alturas, California.

Kurt had resided in Crawfordsville since 2004. He worked in the steel-building industry, and was most recently employed by Ceco in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Kiwanis Club. He loved fishing and hunting, and was an amateur photographer.

Kurt is survived by his wife Janice of Santa Barbara, California; daughter Suzanne Rorick of Stevenson Ranch, California; one grandson, Westley Sartain of Stevenson Ranch, California; brother Les Rorick and wife Linda of Pasadena, Texas; father-in-law Bill Lowes of Bakersfield, California; brother-in-law Bill Lowes and wife Donna of Mountain View, California; brother-in-law Charles Lowes and wife Maggie of Kingman, Arizona; sister-in-law Janice Gnekow and husband Mike of Bakersfield, California; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law Mary Lowes.
