Karin Ann Bennett, age 68, of Washington, Iowa, was called home to heaven on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Celebration of life services will take place on Saturday, January 4 at the Marr Park Conservation Center in Ainsworth, Iowa from 2:00-7:00 pm. From 2:30-3:30 pm memories of Karin will be shared, with a sunset viewing and fellowship to follow. Karin was born at 12:48 a.m. on February 26, 1956, in Urbandale, Iowa, to Charles Chester and Gloria Louise (Ratcliffe) Bennett. She graduated from Urbandale High School in 1974. In 1993, Karin relocated to Washington, Iowa to provide a better life for her five children.

Karin saw the beauty in everything and especially loved to watch sunrises and sunsets. She always carried a sense of humor with her and her laughter was contagious. Her singing and dancing was enjoyed by all and will never be forgotten. If you were blessed to know Karin, you would know how selfless, generous, and empathetic she was. Her warmth and kindness radiated on all who crossed her path. The Christmas season was her favorite time of year, and she enjoyed driving around to admire the beautiful holiday lights.

As a young woman, Karin enjoyed waitressing, leaving a lasting impression on those she served. However, her proudest accomplishment was raising her children and grandchildren in love. Once an earth angel, she is now a guardian angel to daughter Shondra Jones and partner Robert Mhoon of Navarre, Florida; son Mickey Jones and partner Rebecca Hathaway of Washington, Iowa; daughter Mileka Karina Jones and partner Daniel Walker of Iowa City, Iowa; daughter Edith Jones and partner Mike Murph of Iowa City, Iowa; and daughter Gloria Jones of Iowa City, Iowa; nine grandchildren: Xavier, Mason, Malakai, Aryana, Silas, Josiah, Ariella, Aiden, and Trinity; brother Doug (Patty) Bennett of Arizona; brother Greg (Joan) Bennett of Wisconsin; sister Diane Olson of Missouri; brother Chris (Marcia) Bennett of North Carolina; and sister Peggy (James) Marriott of Montana; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who she cared for deeply.

Karin is reunited in heaven with her parents; grandmother Louise; infant brother Mark Steven Bennett; brother-in-law Kevin Olson; niece Danielle Olson; and lifelong friend Vicki Latzer.

Her legacy of love will last forever.
