Julie A. Wells, age 69, of West Chester, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital following a brief illness.

Celebration of life services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Julie was born October 20, 1949 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Leland and Rosalie (Combs) Sheetz. She graduated from Keota High School in 1967 and attended cosmetology school in Davenport. Julie was united in marriage to Dick Wells on December 11, 1971 in Washington, Iowa.

Julie was the owner and operator of Julie's Salon in Washington for over 50 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the KAABA Ladies Auxiliary. Julie loved fishing, gardening and painting.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Wells of West Chester, IA; daughter, Jade Halvorsen of Centerville, IA; grandson, Summit Halvorsen; brother, Jim Sheetz and wife Angie of Keota, IA; 3 nephews and 1 niece.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Sue Sheetz; and aunts and uncles.
