Judy A. Moore, age 63, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, April 05, 2012 at the Halcyon House in Washington following a five year battle with cancer.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10th at the United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob Wollenberg officiating. Visitation will begin noon Monday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Judy was born February 4, 1949 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Leo Glenn and Norma Jean (Rhodebeck) Beauchamp. She attended school in Washington, Iowa and graduated from high school in 1967. She later attended Business College in Burlington, Iowa for two years.
Judy was a lifelong resident of Washington, Iowa. She worked as the aquatic director at the Washington Community Y until her retirement in February of 2012. Judy was a member of the United Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, a Deacon, assisted with JAM Kids, helped in the Sunday School Nursery for many years and went on many adult mission trips. She volunteered with the Special Olympics, coached volleyball, basketball and softball for the Washington Community School District and was a swim instructor and swim team coach at the Washington Community Y. She enjoyed going to and helping at auctions.
Judy is survived by her daughter Vickie Huizenga and husband Jeff of Mackinaw, Illinois: daughter Kimberly Miller and husband Sean of Washington, Iowa; four grandchildren, Bryan Huizenga, Bridget Huizenga, Victor Miller and Josie Miller; mother, Norma Beauchamp of Washington, Iowa; brother Glenn Beauchamp and wife Rita of Arlington, Iowa; sister Barbara Renken and husband Gene of Bella Vista, Arkansas; brother, Tom Beauchamp and wife Sandy of Washington, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father in 2005.
