Joyce L. Zieglowsky, age 77, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Washington County Hospital after failing in health for the past three months.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Joyce was born April 25, 1946, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Cloyce Clinton and Myrtle Maxine (Churchill) Zieglowsky. She graduated from Washington High School in 1964 and attended the University of Iowa.

Joyce was Co-Owner and an Accountant for AB Clemence & Co. LLC in Iowa City her entire life until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Joyce was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Iowa Bowling Hall of Fame. She enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and playing cards. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes sports fan and a Chicago Bears fanatic.

She is survived by her brother, LaVerne Zieglowsky and wife Margaret of Washington, Iowa; five nieces and nephews: Julie Zieglowsky of Washington, Iowa; Jim Zieglowsky and wife Denise of Washington, Iowa; Jay Zieglowsky and wife Cindy of Macomb, Michigan; Stephanie Bare and husband John of Newton, Iowa; and Tadd Zieglowsy of Washington, Iowa; as well as a number of great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Cloyce and Maxine Zieglowsky; brother, Eugene Zieglowsky and wife Elizabeth; infant sister, Audrey Zieglowsky and nephew, Russell Zieglowsky.
