John N. Williams, age 59, of Washington, Iowa died Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Washington County Hospital after a sudden illness.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Don Collings. Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Tuesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. John N. Williams was born February 5, 1953 in Unionville, Missouri the son of John Willard and Roxie May (Milford) Williams. He attended school in Missouri and Keota, Iowa. John graduated from Mid Prairie High School. He was united in marriage to Sally A. Chance on May 17, 1976 in Washington, Iowa.
John had been a resident of Washington for the last thirty-six years. He was employed by Crane Valve for thirty-four years, until 2006. He also worked at ACH Foam Technology, and was most recently employed by Pizza Hut for the last two years until his health declined.
John attended the Prairie Flower Baptist Church Youth Group. He was active in the Washington Bowling League on the Paynes Team. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. He liked to attend stock car races and loved watching Iowa games and wrestling on TV. He also enjoyed going to auctions and antiquing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
John is survived by his wife, Sally of Washington, Iowa; foster daughter Candy Lowe of Washington, Iowa; sister Sue Hicks of Unionville, Missouri; sister Leotta Clay of Wellman, Iowa; brother Randy Leroy Williams of Washington, Iowa; sister Thelma Maxine Williams of Wellman, Iowa; brother Charles H. Williams and wife Judy of Keota, Iowa; sister Jean Threlkeld and husband Danny of Wellman, Iowa; brother Jess W. Williams and wife Frances of Washington, Iowa; sister Annie Jarvis of Delta, Iowa; one aunt: Lois Vest of Washington, Iowa; one uncle: Robert Milford of Washington, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother; one niece; and fourteen aunts and uncles.
