Jeremy R. Nevins, age 2, of Wayland, Iowa, died Monday, June 12, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals following an accident on Saturday.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Marion Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Joseph Brown officiating. Visitation will begin noon Friday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Friday evening. Interment will take place at the Grace Hill Cemetery in rural Washington County. A general memorial has been established. Jeremy was born March 26, 2015, in Washington, Iowa, the son of John J. and Kyla M. (Engel) Nevins. He was a member of the Marion Avenue Baptist Church and enjoyed going to church with his family. Jeremy was known for his contagious smile and was loved by everybody who met him.

He is survived by his parents, John and Kyla Nevins of Wayland, Iowa; four siblings: Megan, John II, James, and Makayla Nevins all of Wayland, Iowa; maternal grandparents, Fritz and Sharon Engel of Brighton, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Don and Marie Nevins of Wayland, Iowa; maternal great grandmother, Della Glaspie of North English, Iowa; paternal great grandmother, Evelyn Leblanc of Thibodaux, Louisiana; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Eugene & Louise Engel, and Carl Glaspie; as well as his paternal great grandparents, Joe & Marilyn Nevins, and Aaron Leblanc.
