Jennifer Lynne McFarland, age 46, of Ainsworth, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospital following a sudden illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Ainsworth Community Church in Ainsworth, Iowa, with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. In lieu of flowers a general memorial has been established. Jennifer Lynne was born February 7, 1972, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Warren Pratt and Laura Lynne (Boyers) Edwards. She attended school in Iowa City and graduated from Iowa City High in 1990. Jen attended Kirkwood Community College and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Iowa. Jen was proud to have been recently accepted into the MBA program at the University of Iowa. Jen began dating Allen McFarland in 1988, and the couple was united in marriage on September 17, 2005, in the Lake of the Ozarks.

Jen lived most of her adult life in the Ainsworth community. She worked at RR Donnelly in Iowa City and enjoyed working with her flowers, gardening, listening to and playing music. She was a great cook and hostess and cherished her family and friends. Jen-Jen was an animal lover and enjoyed the time spent with her animals, Jasmine, Kitty and Jack. Jen was a generous, giving and kind hearted spirit, always putting others first.

She is survived by her husband, Allen McFarland of Ainsworth, IA; brother, Jason Edwards and wife Lindsey of San Antonio, TX; step mother, Denise Edwards of Cape Cod, MA; father and mother-in-law, David Edward and Rebecca Jean McFarland of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; sister-in-law, Lisa McFarland Lloyd and husband Mike of Ainsworth, Iowa; two grandmothers: Eugenia Elmore and Alice McFarland; two nieces, Brittany Lloyd Patel and husband Sam, and Hailey Lloyd; one nephew, David Lloyd and wife Jalyn; two great nieces, Aria Patel and Kimberlyn Lloyd; five cousins, Rob Edwards, Charlene Hawkins Buchanan, Michelle Christe, Brenda Christe, Carol Conrad, and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
