Jeanne Boardman, age 73, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Washington County Hospital.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the United Presbyterian Home dining room, with Chaplain Andrew Zuehlke officiating. A general memorial has been established. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent for Jeanne’s family at www.jonesfh.com.
Jeanne was born on November 7, 1952, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Keith and Audra (O’Connor) Williams. She graduated from Washington High School in 1970, and during her time there she was a state champion swimmer. Jeanne served honorably in the United States Army. She was united in marriage to Chuck Boardman.
Jeanne lived in Germany for three years before returning to the United States. She spent most of her life in Southern California, where she and Chuck built a bar from the ground up and successfully operated the business until her retirement in 2013. Following her retirement, Jeanne returned to Washington to be closer to her family. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and playing games, especially Words with Friends.
Jeanne is survived by her sons, Brian Arduser of Washington, Iowa, and Jay (Sara) Arduser of Tennessee; four grandchildren: Brian Dali Arduser of Ensenada, Mexico; Claudia Michelle Arduser of Mexicali, Mexico; Torrie Arduser of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Laynie Arduser of Iowa City, Iowa; along with one great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her brother, Mike (Diane) Williams of Camdenton, Missouri; sister, Mary (Bill) Sollers of Rockville, Maryland; and aunt, Pat (Brad) Goff of Washington, Iowa.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Boardman, in 1999; her parents; her brother, Joe Williams; her two uncles, Dave (Barb) Williams and Eugene (Eva) Williams; and her three aunts, Mary (Everett) Meeks, Ann (Wayne) Brock, and Alma (Don) Batterson.
