Jeanetta Ann Bruegge, age 83, of West Burlington, Iowa, formerly of New London, Iowa, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.
Celebration of life services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will take place at the Riverside Public Cemetery in Riverside, Iowa. Memorials have been established for the New London Fire and Rescue Department or the Lomax, Illinois Fire Department. Jeanetta was born March 31, 1939, in Riverside, Iowa, the daughter of Eddie and Leona (Wingler) Bruegge. She attended country school near Riverside, Iowa. Jeanetta was proud to have graduated from Southeastern Community College with her GED. She worked at Vaga (Heatilator) in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and later worked as a cook at the Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility. Jean worked at Motorola in Mt. Pleasant for a number of years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Mt. Pleasant and was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Jeanetta enjoyed making crafts, quilting, painting gourds and camping with her family.
She is survived by son, Bryan Owen Ruggles and friend Lisa of Oskaloosa, Iowa; daughter, Brenda Burden and husband Doug of Lake Ozark, Missouri; son, Jack Scott and wife Joanna of Lomax, Illinois; 13 grandchidren: Brandi, Scott, Katy, Matt, Tiffany, Josh, Jake, Tyler, Shanae, Sawyer, Tucker, Jacob and Kailea; 17 great grandchildren and one on the way; and brother, Edward Bruegge and wife Nikki of Richland, Iowa.
Jeanetta was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lester Bruegge and sister, Mae Zieglowsky.
