P. Jean Dickerson, age 70, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, January 16, 2015, at her residence in Washington following a sudden illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Visitation will begin noon Tuesday, January 20th at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. Phyllis Jean was born August 12, 1944, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of James Edward and Mildred Fern (Lough) O'Brian. Jean attended school in Washington, Iowa, and graduated from Washington High School. She was united in marriage to Pete Adank in 1975. He preceded her in death in 1976. Jean was previously married to Mike Dickerson.
Jean was a lifelong resident of Washington where she worked as a Nurse's Aide at the M.L. McCreedy Home for 26 years retiring in 2008. Jean enjoyed cross stitch and playing board games, especially Scrabble. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Jean is survived by son, Paul Dean Dickerson and wife Susie of Wayland, Iowa; son, James Dickerson and wife Barb of Wayland, Iowa; daughter, Shelby Bryant and husband Donnie of Washington, Iowa; son, Terry Hook of Washington, Iowa; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Lou Holden and husband Keith of Wilmar, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jeffrey Lee Dickerson; and her husband Pete Adank.
