Jarold W. "Dub" Lister, age 73, of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, in Washington following a brief illness.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Visitation will begin noon Wednesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Wednesday evening. Dub was born January 13, 1941, in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Harold E. and Gladys E. (Gum) Lister. He attended school in Keota, Iowa, and graduated from Keota High School in 1959. Jarold was united in marriage to Anita M. (Musgrove) Farrington on January 27, 1990. He was previously married to Kay Moore.
Dub worked as a general supervisor for River Products. He retired in June of 2013 after fifty years with the company. He was an avid NASCAR and Sprint Car fan and enjoyed going to races at the Knoxville Raceway. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and camping.
Dub is survived by his wife, Anita Lister of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Vicky Howrey and husband Bill of Washington, Iowa; son, Rick Farrington of Iowa City, Iowa; son, Randy Farrington and wife Jan of Brighton, Iowa; daughter, Rhonda Lister of Sandwich, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and father-in-law, Ray Musgrove.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lovel Lister; and mother-in-law, Marguerite Musgrove.
