Janice M. Stille, age 68, of Washington, IA, formerly of Davenport, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the McCreedy Home in Washington, after a long battle with cancer.
Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly Slagle officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Janice was born June 15, 1947 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mildred (Hickie) Sidles. She graduated from Seymour High School and from Iowa State University with a degree in Home Economics. She later received an Associate's Degree in Computer Programming from Scott Community College. Janice was united in marriage to Lynn Stille on March 8, 1969 in Colfax, Iowa.
Janice was a Director at Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging from 2006 until her retirement in 2011. She was a previous member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Davenport and a current member of the Wayland Mennonite Church. Janice enjoyed country music, quilting, reading, genealogy and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Stille of Washington, IA; daughter, Diane Rinner and husband Tye of Washington, IA; daughter, Ellen Tominsky and husband David of Cedar Rapids, IA: grandchildren: Maggie, Cameron and Emily Rinner and Isaac and Evan Tominsky; and sister, Louise Howell of Pittsburgh, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louella Miller; sister-in-law, Gloria Stille; and three brothers-in-law, Don Howell, Wayne Stille and Mac Dresbach.
