Janelle Yvonne Limoges, age 77, of Ainsworth, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Private family Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials have been established for a flower garden at Marr Park, and for food assistance for the Highland School lunch program. Janelle was born on December 19, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Earl A. and Marie H. (Rivard) Martin. She graduated from Sioux City Heelan High School in 1967, and attended Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa, where she studied social work before leaving to raise her family. On May 11, 1968, Janelle married her high school sweetheart, Charles Joseph Limoges III, in Sioux City, Iowa.
Janelle worked for many years as the department manager of the Fashion Department at Pamida in Washington. She was previously employed at the McCleery-Cumming Calendar Factory, the Farm & Home Mutual Insurance Company, and served as the city clerk in Ainsworth for several years. She also served on the Washington County Enrichment Foundation for multiple years and as a first responder in Ainsworth for decades. Janelle also helped organize Mom’s Time Out at the Washington Community Y and was a Den Leader of the Webelos and Cub Scouts in Ainsworth for many years. Passionate about supporting families and children in need, Janelle was instrumental in organizing the Backpack Program. She was also a member of St. James Catholic Church and volunteered her time at Earthly Blessings.
Janelle loved spending time in her flower gardens and watching birds. She also enjoyed making crafts alongside Charlie in their woodshop, Moe & Joe’s Woodshop. She loved meeting friends for coffee, socializing, and traveling together. Above all, Janelle cherished time spent with her family, especially her granddaughters, and her beloved dog, Willow.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Limoges of Ainsworth, Iowa; son, Brent (Alberta) Limoges of North Riverside, Illinois; daughter, Belinda (Andy) Robinson of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Beth Limoges (Mark Ham) of Frytown, Iowa; son, Brian Limoges of Tampa, Florida; and five granddaughters: Charlie Aicher, Claire Robinson, Isabella Limoges, Sophia Robinson, and Nicolette Limoges. She is also survived by her sister, Darlene Rose of Elm Grove, Wisconsin; sister, Jeanine Woods of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; sister, LaVonne (Steve) Peterson of Mukilteo, Washington; mother-in-law, Darlene Limoges of Sioux City, Iowa; brother-in-law, Andre (Judy) Limoges of Sioux City, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Carole Sharpe of Sioux City, Iowa, and Cheryl Limoges of Apple Valley, Minnesota; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Janelle was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Martin; nephew, Christopher Woods; brothers-in-law, Fred Rose, David Sharpe, and Jim Woods; and father-in-law, Charles Limoges Jr.
