Our beloved mother, Janelle Diane Green, age 77, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at her residence.
Janelle was born on January 29, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of George and Leotha Brousard. On November 3, 1968, Janelle married Larry Green in Cedar Falls, where she and Larry met and attended school at the University of Northern Iowa.
Janelle was a creative soul who had a real zest for life, a passion for all things involving horses, and a remarkable talent for decorating. Her artistic eye and warm heart made every space she touched feel like home.
Janelle is survived by her two children, Scott and Stephanie, and her two grandchildren, Piper and Ben, who were the light of her life.
Janelle was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Larry, in 2012.
Her family and loved ones all miss her dearly. She will also be missed by her many friends who knew her for her generous hospitality and giving spirit. We will all treasure memories of her fabulous holiday gatherings, where her warmth and creativity brought everyone together.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2025 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with Pastor Erin Kaye officiating.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the West Des Moines Christian Church, 4501 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines, where the family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.
Interment will take place at North Hill Cemetery in rural Wayland, Iowa.
