Jane Weber, age 80, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, August 17, 2017, at the Washington County Hospital after failing in health.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2017, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Bernie Weir officiating. Calling hours will begin at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Prayer services will be held 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Ss Peter & Paul Cemetery in Clear Creek Township, rural Harper, Iowa. Following the interment, lunch will be served in the Ss Peter & Paul basement. Theresa Jane Webb was born September 12, 1936, in Sigourney, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Colletta (Sondag) Webb. She graduated from St. Elizabeth's Catholic School in Harper, Iowa in 1954 and attended the Burlington Beauty Academy. Jane was united in marriage to Tony Weber on November 26, 1955.
Jane worked at the Broadway Beauty Studio in Fairfield, Iowa. Following the birth of their first child, Jane stayed home to raise her family and help Tony with the farm operations. She also owned and operated Country Lane Ceramics for many years. After moving to Washington, Jane was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She was a fifty year member of Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek Township, rural Harper where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed working with ceramics, gardening and canning and was known for her "green thumb".
She is survived by her husband, Tony Weber of Washington, IA; daughter, Patty (Jim) Vancheri of Plainsboro, NJ; daughter, Kathy (Tom) Sieren of Wellman, IA; son, Nick (Cec) Weber of Ollie, IA; daughter, Beth (Howard) Doyle of Mechanicsville, IA; son, Jim (Jolene) Weber of Parnell, IA; son, Alan (Jen) Weber of Harper, IA; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen (Dale) Barnhart of Sigourney, IA.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Don Weber; and siblings: Paul Webb, Marie Vogel and Francis Webb.
