Helen Marie Curtis, age 90, of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the M.L. McCreedy Home in Washington following a lengthy illness.

Helen was born November 2, 1923, in Crawfordsville, Iowa, the daughter of Jesse and Mary Ethel (VanAlst) Curtis. She attended school in Washington, Iowa. Helen lived at Autumn Park having many good friends she considered family.
Helen was a life resident of Washington County where she was a homemaker. She also did factory work and provided babysitting services to many families in Washington. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Washington.
She is survived by sister-in-law, Shirley Curtis of Apache Junction, Arizona; as well as four nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews and cousins from Crawfordsville.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Don and Dale; and two sisters, Mickey and Jessie.
