Harriet Caroline Orr, age 96, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly of West Chester died Monday, February 17, 2014, at Jersey Ridge Place in Davenport following a brief illness.
Harriet was born August 19, 1917, in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Myrtle (Benjamin) Bey. She graduated from Washington High School and attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. Harriet was united in marriage to Donald K. Orr on September 19, 1940, in Washington, Iowa.
Harriet lived most of her life in the West Chester community. She was a homemaker and worked at the American Pearl Button Factory. She later worked at West Chester Savings Bank. Harriet was a member of the West Chester Methodist Church, she was a fifty year member of PEO and was Worthy Matron of Eastern Star.
She is survived by two sons; John Orr and wife Carolyn of Palm Coast, Florida; James Orr and wife Karen of Bettendorf, Iowa; four grandchildren; Courtney Haidinger and husband Tom, Kelly Dollins and husband Jason; Trent Orr and wife Jennifer; Ryan Orr and wife Libby; as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2001, and one brother, James Bey.
