V. Grace Lytle, age 96, of Washington, Iowa died Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Halcyon House after a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa with Pastor Jim Stiles officiating. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Halcyon House. Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church or Halcyon House Activities Fund. Virginia Grace Lytle was born September 23, 1915 in Wever, Iowa the daughter of Carl W. and Clara (Liddle) Radtke. She graduated from Stockport High School in 1932 and later graduated from Howard Beauty School in Burlington, Iowa. Grace was united in marriage to Robert L. Lytle on May 29, 1935 in Fairfield, Iowa.

Grace worked as a beautician for nine years in Keosauqua and Washington. In December of 1942, Grace and her husband assumed ownership of Lytle's Grocery on the east side of the Washington Square. They owned and operated the Grocery Store until their retirement. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a charter member of A.R.C. and has been a member of T.T.T. Chapter Y since 1938.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1989, her daughter Linda in 2000, and two brothers Richard and Robert Radtke.
