Gladys Marie Beenblossom, age 74, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Gladys was born July 17, 1942 in Lone Tree, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Evans) Palmer.
Gladys worked at Holton's Fashions in Washington, Iowa, until they closed. She later worked for Walmart until her retirement. Gladys enjoyed bowling, helping others, and shopping at Goodwill. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and cherished her family dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Beenblossom of Washington, IA; daughter, Cindy Martin of Wayland, IA; son, Jeffrey Beenblossom of Cheifland, FL; daughter, Tamara Starr and husband Scott of Wayland, IA; daughter-in-law, Cherie Musgrove of Washington, Iowa; six grandchildren: Kara Beenblossom of Washington, IA; Tawnya Achen and husband Jared of Wayland, IA; Shawn Martin and wife Alysha of Wayland, IA; Tad Martin of Wayland, IA; Ethan Starr of Wayland, IA; and Zachary Martin of Wayland, IA; 2 great-grandchildren: Britlynn Martin and Brecken Achen; 7 brothers: Faylon Palmer and wife Pat of Winfield, IA; Francis Palmer and wife Connie of Atalissa, IA; Maynard Palmer and wife Dixie of Morning Sun, IA; Gary Palmer and wife Theresa of Afton, IA; Harlan Palmer of Washington, IA; Bob Palmer and wife Redna of Muscatine, IA; and Karl Palmer of Rodgersville, TN; 5 sisters: Loretta Andrew and husband Eugene of Burlington, IA; Nita Carlson and husband Jim of New Port Richie, FL; Jean Johnson and husband Joe of Washington, IA; Dale Steward and Tom Church of Mediapolis, IA; and Nadine Walker and Tony Olsen of Wapello, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Beenblossom; son-in-law, Tony Martin; 2 brothers: DeWayne Palmer and Clair Palmer; and niece, Terrie Palmer.
