Gale E. Arnold, age 77, of Washington, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his residence.

Gale was born April 13, 1939 in Washington, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Christine (Yordy) Arnold. He graduated from Washington High School in 1957.

Gale was a carpenter in Eastern Iowa for most of his life and was at one time a local business owner. He enjoyed reading, fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his daughter, LeAnn Madison and husband C.J. of Coppock, Iowa; son, Brian Arnold and wife Robin of Brighton, Iowa; daughter, Connie Blaess and husband Brian of St. Paris, Ohio; son, Michael Arnold of Washington, Iowa; son, Jon Arnold of Salida, Colorado; daughter, Mellissa Arnold and Mike Springs of Salida, Colorado; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Steven Arnold and wife Jeanne of Washington, Iowa; and 5 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bob Arnold.
