Eric Dean Wagenknecht, age 33, of Grandview, Iowa formerly of Washington, died suddenly Friday, March 25th at his residence.

Celebration of life services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29th at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Harald Gruber officiating. Visitation will begin noon Monday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 Monday evening. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. In lieu of flowers a general memorial has been established. Eric was born July 27, 1977 in Washington, Iowa the son of Roberta Wagenknecht. He attended school in Washington, Iowa graduating in 1996. He lived most of his life in Washington and has lived in Grandview for the past year. Eric spent a lot of time with his uncle Jim and aunt Marsha and their family whom he looked to as a second family, mentors and friends. Eric was blessed to have Tracy in his life and was looking forward to marrying his best friend and love of his life.

Eric was a car salesman at Carousel 2 in Iowa City. He enjoyed spending time with his son, Khaven. Eric's many interest included sports, Harley Davison Motorcycles, music and his dog Homer.

He is survived by his son Khaven Edwards of Washington, Iowa; fiancé Tracy Graf and son Izak Wadden of Grandview, Iowa; mom Bobbie Wagenknecht of St. Charles, Missouri; brother Nathan Wagenknecht and wife Tina of Waterloo, Iowa; brother Kevin Phillips and wife Jessica of Milo, Iowa; sister Cassie Phillips of St. Charles, Missouri' grandfather Jim Wagenknecht and wife Lois of Kimberling City, Missouri; aunt Becky Patten of Waterloo, Iowa; aunt Patty Palmer of North Richland Hills, Texas; uncle Jim Wagenknecht and wife Marsha of Washington, Iowa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Donna Lee Wagenknecht in 1996.
