Eric C. Tusing, age 27, of Hedrick, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 in Burlington, Iowa.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Joseph Brown officiating. Visitation will begin noon Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Eric was born September 30, 1988 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Eric Tusing and Pamela Swyter. He attended school in Washington and later attended school in Waterloo.

Eric worked construction and did farm work. He was very social and enjoyed being around family and friends and his dog, Chukoo. Eric was a mixed martial arts fighter for several years and enjoyed the outdoors.

Eric is survived by his sons: Eric Tusing, Jr. of Cotter, Iowa, Tristan Tusing of Webster City, Iowa and Travis Tusing of Waterloo, Iowa; mother, Pamela Swyter of Waterloo, Iowa; father, Eric Tusing and girlfriend, Michele of Winfield, Iowa; sister, Brooklyn "Brookie" Taylor and husband Scott of Waterloo, Iowa; brother, Dakota "Cody" Tusing of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; brother, Ryan Tusing of Waterloo, Iowa; step-sisters: Whitney Shoemaker of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Chelsea Castro and husband Rob of Washington, Iowa; step-brother, Jordan Glenn and wife Erica of Washington, Iowa; half-sister, Nicole "Cole" Castillo and husband Mike of Wellman, Iowa; step-brother, Nicholaus Hill of Ft. Dodge, Iowa; step-sister, Darrian Cecchini and husband Brady of Winfield, Iowa; step-brother, Damian Cecchini of Winfield, Iowa; maternal grandfather, Roger Swyter and wife Beth of Marion, Iowa; maternal grandmother, Marvel Pearce of Waterloo, Iowa; his girlfriend, Courtney House of Hedrick, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his half-brother, Tristan Furgason; his paternal grandparents, Cecil and Mary Tusing; and his cousin, Tyler Swyter.
