Obituary

On October 2nd Emily Michele Nash joined her beloved "Granny" who greeted her with open arms in Heaven. Emily was a free spirit who cared deeply about many throughout her short life, especially her children.

The family will host a Celebration of Life in Emily's honor at the Brighton City Park on October 9th from 11-1 pm. All are encouraged to wear green in support of mental health awareness. A light lunch will be served during the celebration. A general memorial fund has been established for mental health and substance abuse programs along with funeral expenses. Memorials can be mailed to PO Box 11 Brighton, IA 52540 or left at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date.

Emily was born December 3, 1986, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Lonna Blodgett and Michael Nash. She attended school in Washington, Iowa, graduating from Washington High School in 2004. Emily lived most of her life in the Brighton and Washington communities before moving to Ft. Dodge, Iowa, three years ago.

She is survived by her children: Julian, Ellie and Mateo; mother, Lonna Blodgett of Brighton, Iowa; father, Michael Nash of Wentzville, Missouri; brother, Zach (Lexy) Walgren of Riverside, Iowa; sister, Letty (Landon) Hesser of Wayland, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Emily was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Marilyn Crandall and Harold "Bubs" Hesseltine; paternal grandparents, Warren and Letty Nash; and maternal great grandparents, Ezra and Mary Jones.
