Elaine M. Stalder, age 73, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Rev. Bob Wollenberg officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Tuesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, a general memorial has been established. Elaine was born October 17, 1942 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Wolfe) Wulf. She graduated from Washington High School in 1960 and attended the University of Iowa. Elaine was united in marriage to Ronald R. Stalder on December 10, 1961 in rural Ainsworth, Iowa.

Elaine worked for McCleery Cummings Calendar Factory for 43 years and for the Washington State Bank for 6 years as a drive up teller. She loved her bank customers and knew each one by name. Elaine was a lifetime member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church in rural Ainsworth and of the Women's Moose Lodge. She was also a member of the Country Travelers RV Club and enjoyed camping, especially at the Iowa State Fair which she and Ron had done for the last 27 years. Elaine enjoyed watching games shows, playing bingo, and going out to eat. She never missed a community organization's dinner. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Stalder of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Rhonda Dietrich and husband Paul of Williamsburg, Iowa; son, Randy Stalder and wife Tanya of Washington, Iowa; son, Ryan Stalder and wife Sarah of Rogers, Arkansas; grandchildren: Seth Dietrich and wife Trisha, Brett Dietrich and wife Allison, Austin and Baylee Stalder, and Kaleb, Kristen and Justin Stalder; great-grandchildren: Clara, Elsa and Landon Dietrich; sister, Janet Wulf Little of Quincy, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents.
