Obituary

Effie Naomi Dameron, age 62, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2016, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Calling hours will begin 11:00 a.m. Sunday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date. Naomi was born January 29, 1954, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Olin Earl "Sonny" and Delores Faye (Wilson) Harris. She attended school in Washington, Iowa. Naomi was united in marriage to Arthur "Bud" Dameron on October 17, 1992, in Washington, Iowa.

Naomi lived all of her life in Washington, Iowa, and spent the past 13 years wintering in Mission, Texas. She was an avid BINGO player and enjoyed going to garage sales, shopping and golfing. She loved the time spent with her family and playing card games with them.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur "Bud" Dameron of Washington, IA; son, David McArtor of Brighton, IA; daughter, Minetta Hesseltine and husband Norman of Mt. Pleasant, IA; step son, Donnie Dameron of Wapello, IA; step daughter, Cheryl Fletcher of Muscatine, IA; step daughter, Brenda Dameron Iniama of the U.S. Virgin Islands; five grandchildren: Jonathan, Jasmine, Cierra, Chase and Lydia; 3 step grandchildren: Samantha, Kristy and Kelsie; 3 step great grandchildren; mother, Delores Harris of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; brother, Roger Harris of Washington, IA; sister, Faye Mason of Iowa City, IA; sister, Sharon Bright and husband Ed of Fredonia, IA; brother, Craig Harris and wife Delrene of Iowa City, IA; sister, Marjorie Miller and husband Tim of Mt. Pleasant, IA; brother, Larry Harris of Mt. Pleasant, IA; sister, Anita Parker and husband Dallas of Wayland, IA; brother Shawn Harris of Iowa City, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

Naomi was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Donald Harris; and one niece, Amber Miller.
