Edith "Edie" Lucas, age 58, of Crawfordsville, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at her residence after losing her battle with Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Calling hours will begin noon Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Crawfordsville Cemetery. Edie was born May 13, 1959, in Lindsay, Ontario, the daughter of Gerald and Ruth (Archer) Henry. She graduated from Fenelon Falls Secondary School in Fenelon Falls, Ontario.

Edie was a banker for many years. She also trained horses full time and worked in retail. Edie was a member of the American Hackney Society, Midwest Hackney Society and the Mid-America Hackney Society. She also belonged to the US Equestrian Federation. Edie loved horses and trained them her entire life.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Lucas of Crawfordsville, IA; son, Roger Heath of Sunderland, ON; daughter, Meagan Heath of Ainsworth, IA; step-son, Nick Lucas and wife Christy of Rossville, TN; step-daughter, Kelly Lucas of Cordova, TN; granddaughter, Madison Hogue; step-granddaughters: Anna Marie and Emma Jane Lucas; mother, Ruth Henry of Lindsay, ON; mother and father-in-law, Allan and Betty Lucas of Crawfordsville, IA; sisters: Cathy Barber and husband Don of Fenelon, ON; Janice Redmond and husband Terry of Airdrie, AB; and Shelley Lewis and husband Glenn of Springfield, MO; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew.

Edith was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father.
