Obituary

Earl Wayne Lowe, age 82, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Wapello Specialty Care in Wapello, Iowa, following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the United Church of Crawfordsville, with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Interment will follow at Crawfordsville Cemetery. Calling hours will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the church, with the family present to receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for the United Church of Crawfordsville and the WACO Food Pantry. Wayne was born on March 4, 1944, at home in Crawfordsville, Iowa, the son of Earl and Ina Mae (Walker) Lowe. He attended school in Crawfordsville through 11th grade, graduating from Ainsworth High School in 1962. He proudly served in the Iowa National Guard. On December 27, 1970, Wayne married Deborah Trevitt in Mediapolis, Iowa.

Wayne lived his entire life on the family farm east of Crawfordsville, where he farmed all of his life, taking over the operation in 1970. He enjoyed attending horse and cattle sales and produce auctions in Kalona, socializing with friends at the Crawfordsville feed store, and especially liked mushroom hunting and coyote hunting. Wayne was also a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville.

Wayne will be deeply missed by his wife of over 55 years, Debbie Lowe, of Columbus Junction, Iowa; his two daughters: Karen (Lance) Brisky of Lodi, Wisconsin, and Renee Lowe of Cheyenne, Wyoming; granddaughter, Kaelyn (Sam) Burke of Rochester, Minnesota; grandson, Adrian Brisky (friend, Kayla Klobucnik) of Crawfordsville, Iowa; granddaughter, Jordan Brisky (friend, Reese Priebe) of Lakeville, Minnesota; great-granddaughter, Stella Sue Burke of Rochester, Minnesota; and sister, Patricia (Mike) Klopfenstein of Cheyenne, Wyoming; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ina Mae Lowe; and brother, Allen “Jigger” Lowe.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Wapello Specialty Care, and Care Initiatives Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Wayne during his illness.
