Dorothy Elizabeth Evans, age 86, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, formerly of Crawfordsville, Iowa died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Salem Welsh Presbyterian Church in Columbus Junction, Iowa with Pastor Dottie Halverson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Cambrian Cemetery in rural Columbus Junction, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salem Welsh Presbyterian Church. Dorothy was born February 4, 1926 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Mary (Roberts) Rees. She worked as a secretary for Township High School District 214, at Arlington High School, and John Hersey High School until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of the Orchard Evangelical Free Church in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Dorothy loved to spend time with her family and was loved by all.

Dorothy is survived by son Robert Edward Evans and wife Katherine; daughter Karen L. Spina and husband Salvatore; five grandchildren: Sarah M. Mayo and husband Michael; John W. Evans and wife Robin; Megan S. Spina; Michael A. Spina; and Anna M. Spina; four great-grandchildren: Carys Mayo, Bryn Mayo, Bronwyn Mayo, and Owen Evans; sister Cheryl A. Michaelsen and husband Robert; sister Carole J. Rees; niece Michelle M. Alden and husband Scott; and nephew David Michaelsen and wife Diana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband John Price Evans.
