Doris Lavelle Blake, age 87, of Richland, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

Doris was born September 3, 1936, in Hillsboro, Iowa, the daughter of Delause Henry and Thelma Irene (Downing) Akey. She attended school in Rutledge, Missouri.

Doris lived her adult life in Gillette, Wyoming, and Richland, Iowa. She worked as a school bus driver in Gillette. Doris enjoyed fishing, quilting and going for motorcycle rides.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann ( Dale) Woods of Richland, Iowa; son, George (Joy) Eslinger of Marengo, Iowa; son, Henry (Stephanie) Eslinger of Ashland, Missouri; daughter, Doris Jean (Clinton) Forquer of Farmington, Iowa; son Lewis (Ginger) Eslinger of Gillette, Wyoming; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Pauline Lasley of Columbia, Missouri.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce McGoldrick; and grandson, Jeremy Forquer.
