Dora Ann McConnell, age 92, of Jefferson, Iowa, formerly of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa.

Memorial services and interment will be held at a later date at the Riverside Cemetery in Hershey, Nebraska. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home of Washington, Iowa, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent for Dora's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com .

Dora was born January 9, 1926, in Sutherland, Nebraska, the daughter of Fay and Sarah (Cox) Coates. She graduated from high school in Sutherland, Nebraska. On November 5, 1944, Dora was united in marriage to Lynn McConnell in Sutherland. She and Lynn moved to Boone County, Iowa, in 1963 where they farmed for fourteen years. The couple moved to Washington, Iowa, nearly forty years ago and recently moved to Jefferson.

Dora is survived by her husband, Lynn McConnell of Jefferson, Iowa; three sons, Lyle (Candice) McConnell of Mediapolis, Iowa; James (Susan) McConnell of Ogden, Iowa; Fay (Melody) McConnell of Stanley, Virginia; seven grandsons; 13 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Barbara Murray of Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Myrl, Eleanor and Pauline.
