Donald James "D.J" Boileau, age 39, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, December 17, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital following a sudden illness.

Donald James was born March 3, 1982, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Kim Boileau and Kevin Dunsmore. He attended school in Washington, Iowa. D.J. lived in Brighton, Iowa, before moving to Washington, Iowa, in 2001.
He enjoyed collecting swords and old coins and recently picked up the hobby of glass blowing.
D.J. is survived by his mom, Kim Boileau of Washington, Iowa; dad, Kevin Dunsmore and wife Diane of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; brothers: Douglas Humphrey and wife Kristin of Ft. Irwin, California; Kyle Boileau and girlfriend, Sonya of Washington, Iowa; Robert Hesseltine and wife Tasha of Washington, Iowa; Justin Hesseltine and girlfriend, Nikole Scott of Washington, Iowa; aunt, Deb Fett and husband Curt of Salem, Iowa; uncle, Randy Boileau of Ainsworth, Iowa; uncle, Danny Collum of Glen Rock, Wyoming; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and one uncle, Ron Boileau.
