Delores Ann Griffith, age 80, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the West Chester United Methodist Church with Pastor Marlene Janssen officiating. Calling hours for the public will begin noon Friday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home and the family will receive family and friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. There will be a time of food and fellowship with the family at the West Chester United Methodist Church following the interment. Delores was born April 21, 1933 in Washington County the daughter of Joe and Alice (Florang) Krotz. She graduated from Washington High School. Delores was united in marriage to Ted Griffith on June 28, 1953 in West Chester, Iowa.

Delores was a lifelong resident of Washington County. She was proud to be a farmwife and a mother. She was a member of the West Chester United Methodist Church where she served as a Youth Leader. She was also involved in the United Methodist Women's Organization. She served for many years as an Athletic Booster for Mid-Prairie Schools.

Delores enjoyed camping and playing cards, as well as dancing. She enjoyed spending time with friends, and loved attending all of her kids', grandkids', and great-grandkids' activities.

She is survived by her husband Ted of Washington, Iowa; son Dennis Griffith and wife Brenda of Iowa City, Iowa; daughter Peggy Mason and husband Don of St. Charles, Iowa; son Jerry Griffith and wife Susan of Hudson, Iowa; son Scott Griffith and wife Ellen of St. Charles, Missouri; and son Neill Griffith and wife Mary Ann of Oswego, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Delbert Krotz of Washington, Iowa; sister-in-law Pat Dusenbery of Washington, Iowa; and brother-in-law C.J. Griffith and wife Vivian of Washington, Iowa.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; step-sister Darlene Leppert; and sister-in-law LaVaughn Krotz.
