Debra JoAnn Pearson, age 65, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Washington, Iowa, passed away Monday January 22, 2024, at the Dubuque Specialty Care in Dubuque, Iowa.

A visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home at which time the family will be present to receive friends. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to assist with burial expenses. Debra was born May 31, 1958, in Paris, France, the daughter of James and Jerene "Jerri" (Custer) Ginkens. She attended school in Washington and graduated from Washington High School in 1976. Deb was united in marriage to Willis Pearson.

Deb lived most of her life in the Washington, Iowa, prior to moving to Dubuque. She worked at McCleery Cumming Calendar Factory for several years. Deb loved to read and write and was an animal lover. She enjoyed caring for her pets.

She is survived by her husband Bill Pearson of Dubuque, Iowa; son, Robb (Lisa) Pearson of Windsor Heights, Iowa; son, Billy Pearson and partner Kari Brashaw of Dubuque, Iowa; four grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Holly) Ginkens of Elk Point, South Dakota; and sister, Susan (Dan) Jamieson of Washington, Iowa.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, and brother-in-law, Kurt Scott.
