Debra Lynn Montoya, age 65, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025, at her residence.

Debra was born February 26, 1960, in Hannibal, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas and June (McGlothin) Barnett. She attended school in Muscatine, Iowa.

Debra lived in Ainsworth, Iowa, prior to moving to Washington in 2014. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed being a homemaker.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, canning, and baking. Debra loved camping, fishing and spending time outdoors. She especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her dogs.

She is survived by her daughter, Veronica Nieto and husband Jose of Grandview, Iowa; son, Salvador Fonseca and wife Heather of Washington, Iowa; son, Jose Sifuentes and girlfriend Anna of Washington, Iowa; daughter Estrella "Maggie" Gordon and husband Daniel of Washington, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sister, Sandy Fowler and husband Steve of Illinois City, Illinois; sister, Vivian Barnett of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; brother, David Fuget of Muscatine, Iowa; sister, Clytha Wakefield and husband Delbert of Leavenworth, Kansas; sister, Jena Bunch and husband Kirt of Muscatine, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ezra Barnett; brother, Marty Allen Brown; brother, Stephen Barnett; and an infant sister, Virginia Elizabeth Barnett.
