Deborah L. "Debbie" Milam, age 55, of Keota, Iowa, died Saturday, December 13, 2014, in Keota following a brief illness.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18th, at the United Church of Faith in Keota, Iowa. Calling hours will begin 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 16th at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Tuesday evening. General calling hours will continue at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:00a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Keota Cemetery in Keota, Iowa. Deborah was born June 27, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Sandra (Whetstine) Thompson. She attended school in Keota and graduated from Keota High School in 1977. Debbie was united in marriage to Alonzo R. "Lonnie" Milam on February 12, 1977, in Keota, Iowa.
Debbie was a life resident of Keota, Iowa. She worked as a CMA/CNA at Parkview Manor in Wellman, Iowa for nearly 35 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Debbie loved the outdoors, basking in the sunshine while working in her yard. While not in her yard, she enjoyed shopping and searching for bargains.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Milam of Keota, Iowa; son, T.J. Milam and wife Lori of West Chester, Iowa; daughter, Tuesdee Milam and fiancé Sean McConnell of Keota, Iowa; five grandchildren; Elijah, Spencer, Emma, Mison and Bentley; three step grandchildren, Destynii, John and Christopher; step great granddaughter, Audrina; parents, Tom and Sandra Thompson of Keota, Iowa; sister, Charlotte Hagans and husband Terry of Keota, Iowa; sister, Fredia Haines and husband Everette of Wellman, Iowa; brother, Tommy Thompson of Keota, Iowa; sister, Michelle Flynn and Brad Mahan of Wellman, Iowa; mother and father –in-law, Barb and James Milam of West Chester, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and brother and sister-in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Merle & Arlene Whetstine and Claude & Viola Thompson; brother-in-law, Mike Flynn; two aunts, Mary Wilkens and Leona Hudson and one uncle, Edward Thompson.
