David Allen "Dave" Woods, age 56, of Muscatine, Iowa, formerly of Washington, Iowa, died suddenly on Sunday, April 22, 2018, in Muscatine.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, at which time the family will be present to receive friends. Private family interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery at a later date. A general memorial has been established. Dave was born March 13, 1962, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Allen and Mary Sue (Ruble) Woods. He married Rhonda Kerr on May 12, 1990. They later separated. He has lived with his girlfriend, Nina Hernandez, for the past four years.

Dave did HVAC contract work for Proctor and Gamble in Iowa City. He lived most of his life in Washington and has lived the past four years in Muscatine. He was often times found "tinkering" in his garage. He enjoyed golfing, camping, playing poker, playing pool, or playing bags. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Nina Hernandez of Muscatine, Iowa; Nina's children Michelle Hernandez and Oscar Hernandez of Muscatine and grandchildren Eli and Eva Hernandez. He is also survived by his former wife, Rhonda Woods of Wayland, Iowa; four children: son, Jeremiah (Joann) Johnson of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Dayna Johnson of Washington, Iowa; son, David Allen Woods II of Chicago, Illinois; son, Noah Woods of Wayland, Iowa; five grandchildren: Brehannah, Dylan, Rhonda and Milee Doonan, and Magnolia Cole; brother, Allen Woods Jr. of Iowa City, Iowa; sister, Suzan (Brent) David of Tennessee; sister, Mary (Mindi) Hesser of Washington, Iowa; and brother, Robert (Karen) Woods of Wisconsin; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by parents.
