Dameko Jones, age 49, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Friends are invited to gather at Sunset Park in Washington, Iowa, following the visitation. A general memorial has been established. Dameko was born on April 17, 1977, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Curtis Graham Sr. and Jeanette Jones. True to the traits of an Aries, he was fiery, outspoken, and passionate about the things he loved.
He graduated from Washington High School in 1995, where he was an outstanding athlete, participating in football, wrestling, baseball, and track. His picture remains displayed in the weight room of his high school.
Dameko had always been extremely artistic and creative from a young age. He found he could best express his artistic skills and vision using a trimmer and shears, so Dameko attended barber school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and began his own business cutting hair.
Known for his impeccable style, Dameko never stepped out without putting on an outfit with all the accessories. He was a hustler who worked hard to earn everything he had. If he set his mind to something, he would achieve it. In his free time, Dameko enjoyed fight nights on Xbox and was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints. He also had a unique collection of nunchucks and swords. Above all else, Dameko loved his kids more than anything and was always willing to cancel any plans to see them.
He will be missed by his fiancée, Brittney Peiffer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his children: son, Dyllan Light of Fairfield, Iowa; daughter, Zayla Crawford of Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughter, Tya Skay of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Tiana Jones of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and son, Jaiden Kielkopf of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; along with five grandchildren: Dyllan Jr., Tae Sean, CJ, Andrae, and Addelenna Light.
He is also survived by his mother, Jeanette Jones Stuart of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; his siblings: brother, Curtis Jones of Ft. Madison, Iowa; brother, Marvel Jones (Amanda Gillispie) of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; sister, Rosalyn Miller of South Portland, Maine; brother Gary Stuart Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; brother, Curtis D. Graham Jr. of Fairview Heights, Illinois; brother, Hubert Graham of Austin, Texas; brother, Darrian Holliday of Belleville, Illinois; brother, Katoe (Tonia) Chapman of Austin, Texas; brother, DeAndre Graham of St. Louis, Missouri; brother, Lorenzo Graham of Manassas Park, Virginia; and brother, Cameron (Kanisha) Bush of Fairview Heights, Illinois; along with many nieces and nephews.
Dameko was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Graham Sr.
