Daisy E. Davis, age 97, of Washington, Iowa died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the United Presbyterian Home following a lengthy illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19th at the Jones Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Harald Gruber officiating. Visitation will begin 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Daisy was born December 7, 1913 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of John and Edna (Bickmore) Rook. She moved to Princeton, Iowa with her parents in 1925. She attended school in Princeton, Iowa and graduated from LeClaire High School. On May 17, 1947, Daisy was united in marriage to Raymond Davis in Davenport, Iowa.

Daisy was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Washington, Iowa. She was active in the Women's Missionary Society, Fortnightly, and was a volunteer for 12 years at the Veteran's Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

She is survived by one son Raymond John Davis and wife Katherine of Dover Plains, New York; granddaughter Erin Davis of Bondurant, Iowa as well as two step granddaughters.

Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband in 1988.
