Obituary

Craig William Davey, age 71, of Crawfordsville, Iowa, died on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital.

A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Crawfordsville Cemetery with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Memorials have been established for the Crawfordsville Community Club. Craig was born on October 15, 1954, in Los Alamos, New Mexico, the son of Roger and Wanda Jean (Huston) Davey. On November 20, 2003, Craig married Brenda Alderson in Crawfordsville, Iowa.

Craig lived in Crawfordsville, Iowa, most of his life. He worked as a plumber and pipefitter for Hannums/Frank Millard and Co. for 32 years until his retirement in 2010. He spent seven years at Lake Ozark, Missouri. He proudly served on the Crawfordsville City Council for 25 years where he was Mayor of Crawfordsville for over ten years. Craig was a member of the Local 125 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and the ABATE motorcycle club. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and going on motorcycle rides. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his children, grandchildren and his granddogs.

He is survived by his daughter, Emily (Neill) Robison of Crawfordsville, Iowa; son, Kris (Kristin) Davey of Tipton, Iowa; stepdaughter, Tara (Matt) Willman of Bettendorf, Iowa; three grandchildren: Kylee and Tyler Willman of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Caffrey Robison of Crawfordsville, Iowa; and his sister, Suzanne Teer of Missouri.

Craig was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Alderson Davey, in 2019; and his parents, Roger and Wanda Davey; and his beloved dog, Leo.
