Claudine Helen Augustine, age 90, of Ainsworth, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at her residence under the loving care of her son.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. A private graveside service will take place at Oregon Township Cemetery. Claudine was born on July 23, 1935, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Claude and Helen (Acheson) Kilgore. She attended Cotter School and graduated from Ainsworth High School. On September 21, 1957, Claudine was united in marriage to Gary Rex Augustine in Ainsworth.

Claudine spent most of her life in Washington County, though she also lived in Colorado and Iowa City for a short time. While in Denver, she worked in the abstract office of Shell Oil Company. Claudine was a member of the Ainsworth Community Church and the County Line Club. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, bird watching, and taking care of her flowers. She especially loved her dogs.

She is survived by her son, Steven (Shilo) Augustine of Ainsworth, Iowa; and three nieces, Becky Knebel of Riverside, Iowa, Billie (David) Taglauer of Noble, Iowa, and Barbara (Phil) Schnoeblen of Riverside, Iowa.

Claudine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary, in 1974; and brother, Bill Kilgore.
